2018 hold on to your dreams

2018 hold on to your dreams

As we head into 2018 I am hoping we gain the strength to fight the battles worth fighting to protect human rights and american dreams. As a small business owner that works with other small local businesses I hope we can stay on track to support each other and provide for those in our community.
The Gypsy Cafe is proud to be a part of West County in the heart of Sebastopol. We are surrounded by kind neighbors and wonderful local farmers, cheese makers, wineries, breweries, cider and kefir makers, artisans, ranchers, naturalists, musicians and so much more. Happy New Year and we look forward to being a part of your day.

Local Holiday Artisans

Local Holiday Artisans

Gypsy Cafe loves the holidays. We love the colored lights, the chance to hang with friends now that the days are shorter. Don’t forget we have Gypsy gift certificates if you want to SHOP LOCAL, we also have Barbara Paulson’s gorgeous Native American inspired jewelry for the holiday season and  Hand Blown ornaments from Ryan and Brenna who own West County Glass in Sebastopol. We also have gorgeous bracelets from our pal Pell. More reasons to come on in to the Gypsy. Happy Holidays!

Sonoma County love prevails

Sonoma County love prevails

The thing about Sonoma County is people have strong roots. Strong roots to the land they were raised on, roots to growing food, raising animals, making cheese and cider and wine. So many people have families that have been here for generations. The Gypsy suppliers are local families and when the going got tough, people stuck together and helped each other.
Immigrants have come to our county for decades because we needed their help, and to many it reminds them of home.
It may take some time to recover what we just lost in this fire storm, but I know Sonoma County will rise from the ashes with love and grace. Come visit when things calm down and support our local businesses to rebuild our strength and hope

Compassion for our friends

Compassion for our friends

Today at the Gypsy, food and solace went hand in hand. So many hugs from strangers looking for their new compass. Heart wrenching stories each told with disbelief as if nothing really happened. Those who have sent lunch to those who lost everything. Ideas blossomed for a clothing drive, shared housing and numbers exchanged. It feels like dark times yet the love I saw today was so real, compassion driven and present. I am thankful to those who can rise above this tragedy and still reach out. So much to do as this fire ravages our homes our hearts our beautiful county.

Debb Reece
Wonderfully flavored meals, well be back for more. Pleasantly surprised at simple food, packed with deep flavor. And the staff was so friendly. Very satisfying experience.

The food is awesome and the portions are more than generous. Worth the money.
Trish Loomis
Such a neat place. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is very energetic. I had the special of the day, breaded chicken and waffles; it was exceptional–sweet and spicy on the same plate! The kids had their Mac-and-cheese, which I highly recommend; it’s unique from any I have tried before.
RJ Sonnenberg
Delicious and fresh, without trying too hard. Visiting from the Midwest, I appreciated this breakfast! Great service as well.
Brian Powell
My fave breakfast spot in Sonoma County for its freshness, lively dishes and good prices.

The polenta is great! I get cravings for Gypsy’s polenta and greens for breakfast. The service is always good.
Sherry Vierra
This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast and lunch. Great staff. Amazing food. Love the ambience. Get the fresh squeezed OJ or better yet, make it a mimosa!
