For the past 11 years we have spent our lives making the Gypsy Cafe a comfortable inviting cafe on Main Street Sebastopol. A place to meet friends, eat amazing brunches, or just grab a fried chicken sandwich. A place where the customers and servers hug each other hello and remember each others names. So many wonderful memories, so many new friends and the best Huevos Rancheros in town. We get most of our summer produce from The Patch Sonoma and when Francisco shows up from the Sunday farmers market with our first Heirloom tomatoes and basil I call all my friends and say get in here and have a BLT. And the Italian Romano beans inspire many a summer Alfredo Pasta night in my garden with friends. I used to be all about the design of my projects but now its more about sharing the food. Turning people on to enjoying the experience and telling stories about our lives. Food, certain flavors remind people of their past, their history, their dreams. That’s what the Gypsy has been all about al these years.
As of September 26th we have to take a break because my wonderful Chef needs to go back to Mexico for his family and there just is no one out there that can quite cook like my Julio.
But while waiting for a new chef to arrive we are excited to offer the Gypsy General Store and Pie Bar til the end of the year. Join us for a piece of Pie and a cup of coffee, a beer or glass of wine at the counter while shopping some wonderful Gypsy Style Home and Garden merchandise for holiday gifts.
